Our shiny new Safety Officer, who is yet to cause an accident. Don't worry, Seth, you will.

I am a mature student on Foundation Pathways in Technology: Computing Pathway. I joined TermiSoc and the Sailing Club, but the Sailing Club's social activites are a bit wild: At the first Social I was made to down a 'dirty pint' (A Reef, 3 shots of sambuca and a shot of screamer) for falling in during a recreational sailing session and as such I have not turned up for Sailing for some time.

When I turned up for the initial TermiSoc introduction and social, I was a bit disapointed - I guess everyone was fairly new and didn't know what to talk to each other about! However going to see Serenity was great and changed my opinions of the group completely. I plan to become a regular at the Socials and Tutorials (since I don't have 9am starts on Wednesdays and Fridays!) and hopefully contribute to the society in some way!

Background

I am 25 and have been using computers since I was 8 years old. Starting with the BBC Micro/Master and then Acorn Archimedes systems, I progressed via Amiga's and Apple Mac's to the PC platform. My parents brought me an Amiga 600 when I was 12 and then I brought & built my first PC at 16; It was a Pentium MMX 166 with 32Mb RAM, 2Gb Hard Disk! Since then I have owned many many items of PC hardware, but had to cull some of them in order to move to a much smaller flat in Plymouth.

I have worked mostly in User Support, Systems & Network Administration. Initially for a 'dot com' Web Design company in Oxford and then progressing to a SysAdmin position at Cable & Wireless' Data Centre in Swindon. Sadly the first company went 'belly-up' and then 2 years later I was made redundant from Cable & Wiress after they took over several companies and had too many staff.

I was born and raised in Southampton, Hampshire, where my parents and younger sister still live.
