Known Good locations to hold a LAN Party
Sherwell centre, Chaplaincy
Been used several times and has worked pretty well for us.
capacity
could fit at least 30 people in the main hall no problems
pros
- no need for pat testing
- can set up the night before
- has a projector, wifi, sound system, three phase power and a well equiped kitchen
cons
- is apparently quite heavily booked

Babbage top floor
University rooms can be easily booked out for union groups and the top floor of babbage has some comfy looking rooms that would do nicely (although currently untested).
capacity
about 20-30 people easy, can scale up to bigger rooms
pros
- good internet, known
- has projector, sound system, very comfy room
- can easily book multiple rooms
- good security
cons
- no overnight, catering or excessive partying
- needs pat tested cables
- Note: Only the cable needs to be tested (specificly the plug at the end). This means if you get a big box of kettle lead cables and get them tested beforehand, people can just turn up and plug in.
