About this Position

The head technical officer is one of only two members to have the root password to our precious boxes, and is responsible for general maintenance of the software and hardware that is on them. They are also responsible for putting into action decisions of the exec. Usual tasks include maintenance of the website, ensuring the boxes are patched, and keeping the DNS records in check. It is normally their fault that the servers go down, and they're always the one who has to bring them back up again.

The HTO does have a minion: the ATO, who is charged with bringing the HTO cans of coke (or alternatively, tea and biscuits).
